Let Your Light Show-Jack Blake

Friday, March 01, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

According to the scriptures, though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.  If we have not love, we are nothing.  We can give to the poor, but if it is done without love, it profits nothing.  If we help a struggling brother without love, there is no gain.  If we give to the Lord on the first day of the week out of necessity and grudgingly, it is not acceptable to God.

Love is patient and shows kindness.  Love does not covet.  Love rejoices in truth, not in iniquities.  Love bears the burdens of others, believes the truths of God's word, hopes all things, and endures all things.  LOVE NEVER FAILS!  We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Good works come from a good and honest heart and are shown in the conduct and character of every true disciple of Christ.  LET YOUR LOVE SHOW and YOUR LIGHT SHINE so others can see your good works and glorify Our Father in heaven who created us to do His good works.

Acts of Love

Thursday, February 29, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

It was a work of love that Jesus laid down His life for us.   And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  How does the love of God abide in one who has the worlds goods, but shuts up his heart against a brother in need?  The child of God must love in deed and in truth, not in word or tongue.  Jesus told His disciples, and by extension us, that we should feed the hungry, and give drink to the thirsty, cloth the naked, visit the sick, and take in the stranger.  He continues saying, " Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of the heavenly Father."

Father, help us to remove the selfishness from our lives, and to consider and care for those in need, especially those of the household of faith.

In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

Nearer to God to Thee-Jack Blake

Wednesday, February 28, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

If we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our mind, we will draw nearer to Him.  If we say we abide in Him, we ought also to walk as He walked, in love and in the Spirit, not fulfilling the fleshly lusts. Though we were once in darkness, now we are the light of the Lord.  So walk with Him as His children of light, earnestly contending for the faith and adding daily to that faith the Christian graces.  Doing these things will keep us near to the heart of God.  This my song shall ever be, nearer my God to Thee.

Father, we long to be with You eternally in the heavens.  But while we still remain on earth, help us to love You completely, with no reservations and walk properly with You letting You be our guide to that eternal home.

IN JESUS NAME we pray, AMEN

Believe-Jack Blake

Tuesday, February 27, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

According to the scriptures, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things that are visible.  Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11.1, 3, 6).  Believe in God, believe that He communicates to us through His word, the Bible and that the Bible can be understood (Hebrews 11.6; 2 Timothy 3.16,17; John 8.32; Ephesians 5.17).  Believe that if we are to be saved eternally, we must live a life of soberness, righteousness, and godliness (Titus2.11-14).  Believe that Christ is coming again one day, maybe soon, to judge the world in righteousness (Hebrews 9.27; Acts 17.30, 31).  Heaven is real and everlasting (John 14.1-3; 1 Peter 1.3-5).  Hell is real and everlasting (Matthew 25.46; Revelation 20.10, 15).

Lord we believe, help our unbelief. AMEN

More About Jesus and His Gospel-Jack Blake

Monday, February 26, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone of every creed, of every tongue, of every nation.  Hear it, believe it.  Jesus said: "Repent and believe the gospel ' (Mark 1.15).  Obey it, for this is God's will for you.  He wants no one to perish, but that all might have eternal life.  If you refuse His gospel you will die in your sins and face eternal punishment.

Hear, O hear Him calling, calling now for thee.
