The Children of God-Jack Blake

Tuesday, May 07, 2024

Good Morning,

We are children of God by obedience, we are sons of God by inheritance. We are redeemed, forgiven and God's, own special people, that we may proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of the darkness of sin and into His marvelous light. We were once without mercy, but have now obtained mercy. We are disciples of Christ, we deny self and take up our cross daily to follow Him, His example, and His pattern of living. Whatever we. do in word or deed, we do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father though Him. We are Christians, humans who are fallible, persecuted, and once without hope but now have hope through Jesus the Christ who lovingly gave His life on the cross that we might have remission (forgiveness) of our sins. He laid down His life for us, and we owe our life to Him. Hallelujah what a Savior!!

From 1 Peter 2.9, 10; Matthew 16.24; Colossians 3.17.

Remember from Whence You Came-Jack Blake

Monday, April 29, 2024

Good Morning,

Where did we disciples come from?  We came from living a life of vanity and pride.  We came from a life of sin.  We came from living in false religions, or no religion at all. We came from the snare of the devil.  We have spent enough of our past lifetime away from God and doing the works of sin.  Then we found the only one who was able to set us free.  We found Jesus.  We have crucified the flesh with its passions and desire and have been buried with Christ in baptism, and raised to walk in a new life.  Walking by faith, we now live and walk in the Spirit.  By the grace of God we are now His children.  Let us glorify, praise, and bring honor to His holy name in all that we do.

Forgiving Others-Jack Blake

Good Morning, Friends,

According to the scriptures, disciples are to forgive those who trespasses against them, we are to rebuke him and if he repents, forgive him. (Luke 17.3). But what if it is not a brother in Christ?  Well, Jesus is our example, for while He was dying on the cross, He prayed for those who were responsible for His crucifixion, "Forgive them Father, they know not what they do."  And Jesus tells us, "When you pray, if you have anything against anyone forgive them, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses. (Mark 11.25). The disciple is to forbear one another, and forgive one another, if anyone has a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, you must also do. (Colossians 3.13).

Father, we thank you for Your word on which we stand. Help us to forgive and forget things of the past, and remind us daily that we have risen to walk in a new life. Thank You for Jesus in whose name we pray. AMEN

Christ Receives Sinful Men-Jack Blake

Thursday, April 18, 2024

Good Morning,

God sent Jesus that the world, through Him, might be saved (John 3.17).  And He gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Galatians 1.4)  This same Jesus, who has all authority in heaven and on earth, has commanded us to go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things which He has commanded us.  The world needs to know the life saving gospel of Jesus the Christ, which clearly teaches that, YES Christ still receives sinful man.

Undoing Our Doing-Jack Blake

Wednesday, April 03, 2024

Greetings Friends, and Brethren,

Have you said or done things in life that afterwards you wish you could turn back time and undo them?  Probably all of us have said or done things that have hurt others, especially someone we love.  I know I have, and would like to go back and have a conversation again or somehow be able to erase the wrong I done to someone.  I wonder if David wished he could change his past when Nathan confronted him with adultery with Bathsheba.  Then there was Peter when he denied Christ three times and Jesus looked on him.  I'm pretty sure He would have liked to retrieve his words.

Well, like them ,we cannot turn back the pages of time and undo our doings.  But if we repent of our wrongs as David and Peter did, our God, who is a God of new beginnings can and will.  Paul in 2 Corinthians 5.17 told the Corinthian church, and us, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new." and in Galatians 6.15 the Spirit led him write, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation." So, friends if you seriously want to undo your past doings, you must in faithful obedience repent of them.  "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."  To have your sins washed away by the blood of Jesus, you must believe, repent, confess and be baptized, buried with Christ into His death and resurrected to walk in newness of life - Romans 6.  Jesus said in Revelation 22. 16-17, "I, Jesus have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the of the Offspring of David, the bright and morning star."  And the Spirit and the bride say come!  And let him who hears say, come!  And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Are you ready?
