His Open Arms-Jack Blake

Thursday, May 02, 2024

Good Morning,

The foolishness of men of the world say in their hearts, there is no God. They boast in evil and wickedness, and with deceitful tongues they speak lies, and love evil more than good. And yet, God, out of His great love, still receives sinful man. He waits with open arms to take in all who will repent of their sins, confess Jesus as Gods beloved Son, and be buried with Him in baptism and rising up to walk in newness of life. We need to pray for the lost who have never known God, and those who have tasted of His goodness then turned back to the world. Pray they might see the error of their ways and come to Jesus before it is everlasting too late for their souls. Salvation is not found in the grave.

Remember from Whence You Came-Jack Blake

Monday, April 29, 2024

Good Morning,

Where did we disciples come from?  We came from living a life of vanity and pride.  We came from a life of sin.  We came from living in false religions, or no religion at all. We came from the snare of the devil.  We have spent enough of our past lifetime away from God and doing the works of sin.  Then we found the only one who was able to set us free.  We found Jesus.  We have crucified the flesh with its passions and desire and have been buried with Christ in baptism, and raised to walk in a new life.  Walking by faith, we now live and walk in the Spirit.  By the grace of God we are now His children.  Let us glorify, praise, and bring honor to His holy name in all that we do.

Our Individual Responsibility-Jack Blake

Friday, April 26, 2024

Good Morning,

As disciples of Christ we each have individual responsibilities to the Lord our God. Jesus said:  " You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt losses its savour it is good for nothing, but to be cast out, and be trodden under the feet of men.  You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Therefore we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven". (Matthew 5.13-16).  Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick, go to those in prison.  For if we do these things unto one of the least of these, we have done it unto Him. (See Matthew 25.35-40).  But if a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food, and we say to them, depart be warmed and filled; not withstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?  Faith without works is dead, being alone. (James 2.5-17)  God is not unrighteous to forget our work and labor of love which we show toward His name. (Hebrews 6.10).  Brethren these are a very small sample of what our individual responsibilities are.  Can we do better as the salt of the earth and the light of the world?

Near To the Heart of God-Jack Blake

Monday, April 08, 2024

Greetings, Friends and Brethren

Jesus was sent from the heart of God to this low ground of sin and sorrow to seek and save the lost of this world.  Now if Jesus was sent from the heart of God and we truly want to be near to the heart of God where there is calm, peace and release from the troubles of the world, then we need to set our minds not on things of earth but on things on high and stay close to the blessed Redeemer, Jesus the Christ, by picking up our cross daily and following Him.  Brethren we can make a difference by seeking the lost, teaching them the truths of the gospel and conducting our lives with the same mind as Christ.

Father, draw us nearer still nearer to the cross where Jesus died.  Nearer still nearer to thy heart.  Our sinful and contrite hearts we bring to thee to be washed and cleansed in the precious blood of our Savior.  We resign and crucify all of sins pleasures, pride and desires and want now to only do Your will.  Help us, Father, to find that quiet place of rest near to Your heart.

In Jesus name, AMEN

Undoing Our Doing-Jack Blake

Wednesday, April 03, 2024

Greetings Friends, and Brethren,

Have you said or done things in life that afterwards you wish you could turn back time and undo them?  Probably all of us have said or done things that have hurt others, especially someone we love.  I know I have, and would like to go back and have a conversation again or somehow be able to erase the wrong I done to someone.  I wonder if David wished he could change his past when Nathan confronted him with adultery with Bathsheba.  Then there was Peter when he denied Christ three times and Jesus looked on him.  I'm pretty sure He would have liked to retrieve his words.

Well, like them ,we cannot turn back the pages of time and undo our doings.  But if we repent of our wrongs as David and Peter did, our God, who is a God of new beginnings can and will.  Paul in 2 Corinthians 5.17 told the Corinthian church, and us, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new." and in Galatians 6.15 the Spirit led him write, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation." So, friends if you seriously want to undo your past doings, you must in faithful obedience repent of them.  "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."  To have your sins washed away by the blood of Jesus, you must believe, repent, confess and be baptized, buried with Christ into His death and resurrected to walk in newness of life - Romans 6.  Jesus said in Revelation 22. 16-17, "I, Jesus have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the of the Offspring of David, the bright and morning star."  And the Spirit and the bride say come!  And let him who hears say, come!  And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Are you ready?
