His Open Arms-Jack Blake

Thursday, May 02, 2024

Good Morning,

The foolishness of men of the world say in their hearts, there is no God. They boast in evil and wickedness, and with deceitful tongues they speak lies, and love evil more than good. And yet, God, out of His great love, still receives sinful man. He waits with open arms to take in all who will repent of their sins, confess Jesus as Gods beloved Son, and be buried with Him in baptism and rising up to walk in newness of life. We need to pray for the lost who have never known God, and those who have tasted of His goodness then turned back to the world. Pray they might see the error of their ways and come to Jesus before it is everlasting too late for their souls. Salvation is not found in the grave.

The Inescapable God-Jack Blake

Good Morning,

God sits on His holy throne and reigns over the nations (Psalms 47).  He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations (Psalms 66.7).  The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good (Proverbs 15.3).  We cannot escape His Spirit, nor flee from His presence.  He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent (Revelation 19.6; Psalms139.1-4; 7-12).  He is our all in all, above all, and in all who will believe, trust and obey Him.  He is the great I AM.  See that you do not refuse Him who speaks.  For if they did not escape who refused Him, who spoke on the earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven (Hebrews 12.25).  Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today if you will hear His voice." ( Read Hebrews 3.7-11 for complete context).

God and Us-Jack Blake

Good Morning,

The God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament.  God doesn't change (Malachi 3.6).  It is sin that separates us from God, not the Bible (Isaiah 59.2).  God has blessed us with a scheme of redemption to save us from the sins that separate us from Him and to bring us back to a rightful relationship with Him.  The word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth.  He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord (Psalms 33.4-5).  Righteousness and justice is the foundation of His throne, mercy and truth go before His face (Psalms 89.14).  The Lord is longsuffering (patient) toward us not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2.Peter 3.9).  God will not interfere with our freedom of choice; we can choose eternal life with Him or die in our sins and be eternally destroyed.

But for me and my house we shall serve the Lord (Joshua 24.15).

Examinations-Jack Blake

Greetings, Friends, and Brethren,

When I was in school I hated exams, oral or written.  But with age I have found that examination of self is vital, especially concerning my Christian life.  In Galatians 6:1-5, Paul tells us to examine our work.  In 1 Corinthians 11.28, pertaining to the taking of the Lord's supper, we are also told to examine self.  And then I consider my Lord and savior Jesus the Christ, King of all Kings, who was examined by others so many times and in so many ways.  Yet He passed every exam with flying colors.  His love for TRUTH, and the TRUTHS of the Father was tested by Satan in Matthew chapter 4.  He was tested about His love for the Father, and aced that test with His answer, I must do My Father's will by keeping His commandments, even to suffer and die. (Luke 24.46).  He asked the Father to remove the suffering from Him, but said, "Thy will not Mine be done". (Mark 14.33-38).  He was tested by Pilate, and acknowledged He was a King and had a Kingdom that was not a threat to Pilate. (See John 18.36,37).  He was examined about His love for His enemies, but on the cross He asked the Father to forgive them for they know not what they do. (Luke 23.34).  Jesus never failed, but with a perfect score passed every examination.  And He will never fail in His love and mercy for us.  When I examine myself about these things, I fail miserably compared to My Savior.

Oh, to be like thee, blessed redeemer.

Near To the Heart of God-Jack Blake

Monday, April 08, 2024

Greetings, Friends and Brethren

Jesus was sent from the heart of God to this low ground of sin and sorrow to seek and save the lost of this world.  Now if Jesus was sent from the heart of God and we truly want to be near to the heart of God where there is calm, peace and release from the troubles of the world, then we need to set our minds not on things of earth but on things on high and stay close to the blessed Redeemer, Jesus the Christ, by picking up our cross daily and following Him.  Brethren we can make a difference by seeking the lost, teaching them the truths of the gospel and conducting our lives with the same mind as Christ.

Father, draw us nearer still nearer to the cross where Jesus died.  Nearer still nearer to thy heart.  Our sinful and contrite hearts we bring to thee to be washed and cleansed in the precious blood of our Savior.  We resign and crucify all of sins pleasures, pride and desires and want now to only do Your will.  Help us, Father, to find that quiet place of rest near to Your heart.

In Jesus name, AMEN
