Compromise the Spirit-Jack Blake

Friday, May 10, 2024

Good Morning,

In Judges 21.25, we read "everyone did what was right in his own eyes." And in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Paul gives warning that in the last days. (in which we are living) perilous times will come: men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, head strong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of GOD, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! Friends and brethren, sin is active and on the move, it is never satisfied. Spiritual compromise always leads to moral corruption.

Father, thank You for Jesus and for Your word. Help Your obedient faithful children to not be deceived by cruel, unfaithful men of this ungodly and perverse generation. Keep us in Your protection, and give us strength to endure the ways of the world. In Jesus name, AMEN

Sins of Ignorance-Jack Blake

Wednesday, May 08, 2024

Good Morning,

The God inspired word has plainly told us that those who do not know Him and do not obey the gospel of Christ will be separated from Him for all eternity. (See Matthew 25.31-46; 2 Thessalonians 1.7-9; 1 John 2.3-6).  It is our individual responsibility to seek God (See Acts 17.27; Hebrews 11.6).  If we do not seek Him and serve Him we are without excuse. (Romans 11.19-22; Psalms 19.1). It is a sad thing that many sincere religious people believe they are serving God. They should consider Paul before His conversion and they would see that like Paul they are mistaken and are still dead in their sins. (See Proverbs 14,12; Romans 10.1-3). Even after we become Christians we are commanded to keep studying the word that keeps us from being led astray by false teaching in ignorance. (1 Timothy 4.13-16; 2 Timothy 2.15-18; 2 Peter 3. 15-18). May we all diligently study to make sure we are not living in sins of ignorance. Then let us labor tirelessly to reach out and teach those who do not know God or His plan for salvation. (1 Corinthians 15.58; Galatians 6.9).

His Open Arms-Jack Blake

Thursday, May 02, 2024

Good Morning,

The foolishness of men of the world say in their hearts, there is no God. They boast in evil and wickedness, and with deceitful tongues they speak lies, and love evil more than good. And yet, God, out of His great love, still receives sinful man. He waits with open arms to take in all who will repent of their sins, confess Jesus as Gods beloved Son, and be buried with Him in baptism and rising up to walk in newness of life. We need to pray for the lost who have never known God, and those who have tasted of His goodness then turned back to the world. Pray they might see the error of their ways and come to Jesus before it is everlasting too late for their souls. Salvation is not found in the grave.

The Inescapable God-Jack Blake

Good Morning,

God sits on His holy throne and reigns over the nations (Psalms 47).  He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations (Psalms 66.7).  The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good (Proverbs 15.3).  We cannot escape His Spirit, nor flee from His presence.  He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent (Revelation 19.6; Psalms139.1-4; 7-12).  He is our all in all, above all, and in all who will believe, trust and obey Him.  He is the great I AM.  See that you do not refuse Him who speaks.  For if they did not escape who refused Him, who spoke on the earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven (Hebrews 12.25).  Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today if you will hear His voice." ( Read Hebrews 3.7-11 for complete context).

God and Us-Jack Blake

Monday, April 15, 2024

Good Morning,

The God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament.  God doesn't change (Malachi 3.6).  It is sin that separates us from God, not the Bible (Isaiah 59.2).  God has blessed us with a scheme of redemption to save us from the sins that separate us from Him and to bring us back to a rightful relationship with Him.  The word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth.  He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord (Psalms 33.4-5).  Righteousness and justice is the foundation of His throne, mercy and truth go before His face (Psalms 89.14).  The Lord is longsuffering (patient) toward us not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2.Peter 3.9).  God will not interfere with our freedom of choice; we can choose eternal life with Him or die in our sins and be eternally destroyed.

But for me and my house we shall serve the Lord (Joshua 24.15).
