His Open Arms-Jack Blake

Thursday, May 02, 2024

Good Morning,

The foolishness of men of the world say in their hearts, there is no God. They boast in evil and wickedness, and with deceitful tongues they speak lies, and love evil more than good. And yet, God, out of His great love, still receives sinful man. He waits with open arms to take in all who will repent of their sins, confess Jesus as Gods beloved Son, and be buried with Him in baptism and rising up to walk in newness of life. We need to pray for the lost who have never known God, and those who have tasted of His goodness then turned back to the world. Pray they might see the error of their ways and come to Jesus before it is everlasting too late for their souls. Salvation is not found in the grave.

Our Individual Responsibility-Jack Blake

Friday, April 26, 2024

Good Morning,

As disciples of Christ we each have individual responsibilities to the Lord our God. Jesus said:  " You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt losses its savour it is good for nothing, but to be cast out, and be trodden under the feet of men.  You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Therefore we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven". (Matthew 5.13-16).  Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick, go to those in prison.  For if we do these things unto one of the least of these, we have done it unto Him. (See Matthew 25.35-40).  But if a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food, and we say to them, depart be warmed and filled; not withstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?  Faith without works is dead, being alone. (James 2.5-17)  God is not unrighteous to forget our work and labor of love which we show toward His name. (Hebrews 6.10).  Brethren these are a very small sample of what our individual responsibilities are.  Can we do better as the salt of the earth and the light of the world?

Love One Another-Jack Blake

Saturday, April 20, 2024

Good Morning,

To show that we are Christ's disciples, He has commanded us to love one another as He has loved us. (John 13.34,35). Paul tells us to put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness and lonngsuffering; bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another, even as Chris forgave you, so you must also do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your heart, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (See Colossians 3.12-17).

What a blessing, what an honor, what a pleasure it is to serve the risen Savior according to His good pleasure.

Let Your Light Show-Jack Blake

Friday, March 01, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

According to the scriptures, though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.  If we have not love, we are nothing.  We can give to the poor, but if it is done without love, it profits nothing.  If we help a struggling brother without love, there is no gain.  If we give to the Lord on the first day of the week out of necessity and grudgingly, it is not acceptable to God.

Love is patient and shows kindness.  Love does not covet.  Love rejoices in truth, not in iniquities.  Love bears the burdens of others, believes the truths of God's word, hopes all things, and endures all things.  LOVE NEVER FAILS!  We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Good works come from a good and honest heart and are shown in the conduct and character of every true disciple of Christ.  LET YOUR LOVE SHOW and YOUR LIGHT SHINE so others can see your good works and glorify Our Father in heaven who created us to do His good works.

Acts of Love

Thursday, February 29, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

It was a work of love that Jesus laid down His life for us.   And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  How does the love of God abide in one who has the worlds goods, but shuts up his heart against a brother in need?  The child of God must love in deed and in truth, not in word or tongue.  Jesus told His disciples, and by extension us, that we should feed the hungry, and give drink to the thirsty, cloth the naked, visit the sick, and take in the stranger.  He continues saying, " Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of the heavenly Father."

Father, help us to remove the selfishness from our lives, and to consider and care for those in need, especially those of the household of faith.

In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.
