A Friday Morning Prayer-Jack Blake

Friday, April 05, 2024

Greetings, Friends and Brethren let's pray.

Father, we are thankful for Your Son, Jesus, who gives us the way to eternal life and for Your rich mercy and for Your word.  Precious Lord, we ask this morning that You will keep us safe in You everlasting arms and shelter us from the evil one.  Give us peace and stillness to quiet our souls when the troubled winds of life blow.  May we ever be anchored in Your love, steadfast and immovable as we do Your work according to Your will.  Forgive us our repented sins.  And take us by Your righteous right hand and lead us gently Home.

In Jesus Name AMEN.

No Other Compares to God-Jack Blake

Thursday, April 04, 2024

Greetings, Friends, and Brethren,

It is written: To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord Himself is God, and there's no other besides Him. (Deuteronomy 4.35).  There is salvation in no other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4.12).  There is one and only one Lord, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all, and in you all. (Ephesians 4,5,6).  Our God is an awesome God who is not slack in His promise, but is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3.9).  Let us love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our being. (Matthew 22.37).  Obey His commandments and go into the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28.19).

Undoing Our Doing-Jack Blake

Wednesday, April 03, 2024

Greetings Friends, and Brethren,

Have you said or done things in life that afterwards you wish you could turn back time and undo them?  Probably all of us have said or done things that have hurt others, especially someone we love.  I know I have, and would like to go back and have a conversation again or somehow be able to erase the wrong I done to someone.  I wonder if David wished he could change his past when Nathan confronted him with adultery with Bathsheba.  Then there was Peter when he denied Christ three times and Jesus looked on him.  I'm pretty sure He would have liked to retrieve his words.

Well, like them ,we cannot turn back the pages of time and undo our doings.  But if we repent of our wrongs as David and Peter did, our God, who is a God of new beginnings can and will.  Paul in 2 Corinthians 5.17 told the Corinthian church, and us, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new." and in Galatians 6.15 the Spirit led him write, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation." So, friends if you seriously want to undo your past doings, you must in faithful obedience repent of them.  "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."  To have your sins washed away by the blood of Jesus, you must believe, repent, confess and be baptized, buried with Christ into His death and resurrected to walk in newness of life - Romans 6.  Jesus said in Revelation 22. 16-17, "I, Jesus have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the of the Offspring of David, the bright and morning star."  And the Spirit and the bride say come!  And let him who hears say, come!  And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Are you ready?

Living for Jesus-Jack Blake

Tuesday, April 02, 2024

Greetings Brethren and Friends,

Having been buried with Christ Jesus through baptism into death, just as He was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we also should walk in newness of life.  We now belong to Him and those who are His have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  No longer do we let sin reign in our mortal bodies that we should obey its lusts, but now present ourselves to God as being alive from the dead and our members as instruments of righteousness to God.  In this new life we now live in His truth and strive to please Him in all we do, that we may walk worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him.  Out of our pure love for Christ we are committed to obey His commandments.  Live for Jesus, give Him all you have to give, for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him and if we endure we shall also reign with Him.  But if we deny Him, He will also deny us.

Romans 6.3-4;Galatians 5.24; Romans 6.12-13; Colossians 1.10; John 14.15; 2 Timothy 2.11-12.

Trust in the Lord-Jack Blake

Monday, April 01, 2024

Greetings Friends, and Brethren,

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and on the good.  The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.  Therefore, lean not on your own understanding and do not be wise in your own eyes.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He shall direct your paths.  Fear the Lord and depart from evil, it will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself.  Trust Him, obey His commandments, love mercy, do justly and walk humbly with Your God.  For when a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with Him.

Proverbs 15.3; 2 Chronicles 16.9; Proverbs 3.5-8; Matthew 22.37-39; Micah 6.8; Proverbs 16.3.
